Poulan Pro 961420127 22 HP 3-in-1 Self-Propelled Mower Review

The Poulan Pro 961420127 is a 22 HP 3-in-1 Self-Propelled Mower which has front-wheel drive, large 12-inch rear wheels and an auto-choke system for easy starting. The first thing I noticed when I received it was that it was very easy to assemble. All that was required was some minor assembly—basically, attaching the handles and cables and then assembling and attaching the grass catcher. I then added gas and oil, of course, and by the second pull, the engine was purring like a kitten, all thanks to its auto-choke system.

I then took it out for its maiden test drive. I really liked the fact that this mower was a 3-in-1; able to side discharge, bag or mulch the grass. However, while using it I felt like the bag was kind of small. It seems like I had to empty it a few time more than I was expecting.

As I continued to use the mower, there were some things that I really liked about it and some things I weren’t too pleased with. One of the things I really liked was that it did a great job cutting grass. When used on flat terrain, it really did a great job, although it did feel like it was dragging me at times. Unfortunately, it didn’t do that great a job on my hills. Front wheel mowers tend to have problems with hills and this one was no exception.

I also felt that this mower really lacked mulching power. I would often have to go over brush areas a few times over. This isn’t really a surprise, however. This mower only has a 150 cc engine and I’m used to 190 cc mowers.

When I was finished mowing, I did really appreciate the deck-cleaning system that allowed you to attached a garden hose to clean the blades. It worked very well and wish that more mowers had this feature.

All in all, I think the Poulan Pro 961420127 is a 22 HP 3-in-1 Self-Propelled Mower is a good mower. While it doesn’t have a whole lot of power for mulching and tends to pull a little bit, it gets the job done. It worked really well on hills and seemed to be a good quality mower.
