My Cordless Lawn Mower Reviews
The EGO Power+ 20-Inch 56-Volt Electric Cordless Lawn Mower with 4.0 Ah Battery is an electric lawnmower which claims to be one of the most advanced rechargeable mowers on the market today. And while many mowers have made that claim, it does appear that this one is pretty close to being the best cordless lawn mowers I’ve ever seen. It features a 20-inch deck, 3 different cutting options and charges quickly. All in a unit that is powerful and easy to handle.
The first thing I noticed when I first started using this electric mower was that it charged pretty quickly. From the moment I began charging it, it was full was about a half hour. That is pretty quick, especially considering that I’ve dealt with some mowers which took 5 to 6 hours to charge. Compared to that, this was quick and easy.
And after charging it, it was easy to mow the grass. This mower really did handle like a gas mower, except it was exceptionally quiet and was very lightweight. Its charge lasted about 45 minutes, which was enough time for me to do my yard but probably isn’t suitable for larger yards.
What I really liked about the EGO Power+ 20-Inch is that it can discharge grass from the side, mulch or bag. It also comes with LED headlights that allow you to see in the dark. Helpful for those people who like to mow in the evening.
The mower I tried had a 4.0 Ah battery, but it can also be bought with a 5.0 Ah battery or a very powerful 7.5 Ah battery. The 5.0 Ah model should deliver about an hour of mowing time per charge and the 7.5 Ah battery model should deliver approximately an hour and fifteen minutes of mowing. Unfortunately, the 7.5 Ah model is fairly expensive, but it does provide a lot more torque than the other models.
Overall, I think this is a great electric mower that does its job well and is easy to handle. Of all the cordless lawn mower reviews I’ve done, this model is one of my favorites. The only thing I didn’t like was the handle, which I thought was too high. Other than that, I really liked it.
In the past, I’ve been pretty pleased with GreenWorks lawn equipment, so I was pretty excited to be able to try out the GreenWorks G-MAX 40-Volt 19-Inch Cordless Lawn Mower (model 2500502) and to give it a proper cordless lawn mower review.
This lightweight mower comes a 4 Ah battery, a 2 Ah battery and a charger. It has a 19-inch deck, a 7-position height adjustment that can raise the cut height from 1-1/4 inches to 3-1/2 inches easily, and offers 3-in-1 cutting options: it can discharge grass from the side, bag it or mulch it.
It took me around 120 minutes to charge the 04 Ah battery and it took me about half that time to charge the 2 Ah battery. Which gave me a decent amount of cutting time. The 4 Ah battery gave me about 35 to 45 minutes of run time (depending on conditions) and the 2 Ah battery gave me about 20 minutes of run time. All in all, not too bad for doing smaller yards but probably not advisable for larger ones.
The one thing I really didn’t like about this electric mower was that it was a 19-inch model and I’m used to mowers 20-inches or bigger. Only having a 19-inch deck does contribute to the overall cutting time but for most people probably won’t be too big of a problem.
All things considered, I think this electric lawnmower is pretty good. While I wish it was a little bit bigger, I do think it’s the perfect mower for those of you with smaller yards and those of you who are looking for an easy to use mower.
The GreenWorks G-MAX 40V 16-Inch Cordless Lawn Mower (model 25322) is an electric lawnmower that I tested and decided to add it to my collection of electric lawn mower reviews. This electric lawnmower featured a 16-inch cutting deck, came with a 4 Ah battery and charger and had a 5-position height adjustment that allowed the mower’s cutting height to be set from 1-1/4 inches to 3-3/8 inches.
The first thing that I noticed about this mower is that it only came with a 16-inch cutting deck. Which means that it really isn’t good for anything other than a small yard. Using this mower on your lawn will probably result in you seeing a 50% reduction in the amount of grass you can mow as compared to a 22-inch mower. Of course, GreenWorks also offers a 19-inch model but that is a review for a different time. I also noticed that this model didn’t really have the power that I have come to expect from other electric lawnmower models.
However, that doesn’t mean that this electric mower was a disappointment. On the contrary, I thought that it was a nice little mower—if used on a smaller yard that didn’t have tough grass. When I tested it, I noticed that it was quiet, had a decent charge time and was pretty lightweight. Which made cutting my small side yard a whole lot easier.
I thought that this electric lawn mower was also a pretty good value. While I wouldn’t recommend it for larger jobs or for tough to cut grasses, I will say that it’s perfect for little patches of yard to mow and for people who don’t want to push around a heavy gas lawnmower.
The Snapper XD SXDWM82K 82V Cordless 21-Inch Walk Mower is an electric lawnmower I was happy to include in my cordless lawn mower reviews—primarily because it’s a Snapper mower and usually mowers from this brand are high-quality. Fortunately, this mower wasn’t an exception to that rule.
This mower had a nice 21-inch steel deck, 2-2 Ah Batteries, 1 rapid charger, had a large push start button, a 1.6-bushel bag and is a 3-in-1 mower—which means it can bag, side discharge the cuttings or mulch them. So far, so good.
This mower also had “load sensing technology” which changed the speed of the blades according to how much resistance they come across. For example, if you’re cutting fine grass, then the blades will move slower than if you are cutting through thick grass. This saves much-needed battery juice and yet gives the mower the power it needs to overcome tough jobs.
As I continued to use this electric lawn mower, I noticed that while it was powerful and easily cut through the grasses I tasked it with cutting, it was a little bit heavier than other electric cordless mowers I’ve reviewed. In fact, this mower weighs about twice as much as some of the electric ones I reviewed not that long ago. Not a real big deal, but something to consider.
Another thing worth considering is the battery life of this mower. Each 2 Ah battery delivers about 20-25 minutes of cutting time. So if you use both of them, then you’ll probably get the 45 minutes of cutting time this mower is often advertised as having.
The last thing I want to comment on is this electric lawnmowers price. It’s considerably more expensive than some of the other cordless models on the market today. At least it was at the time of this review. Just another thing to consider before purchasing.
Overall, I think the Snapper XD 82V Cordless 21-Inch Walk Mower is a pretty good lawn mower. It’s powerful, durable and can cut the grass in a variety of different ways. Sure, it’s heavier and more expensive than other models, but those things shouldn’t overshadow this well-designed product.
The Poulan Pro 40V Electric Start Dual Blade Mower (967044401) is a stylish looking cordless electric mower that comes from a company that is well known for its line of lawn equipment, specifically chainsaws and weed whackers. So I was pretty excited to add this review to my collection of cordless lawn mower reviews and see if it performs as well as it looks.
The first thing I noticed about this electric mower is that it was super quiet when I started it up. I could barely hear it when I pushed it around. It was also pretty lightweight. While it wasn’t the lightest cordless mower I’ve ever used, it was lighter than most gas mowers.
Another thing I liked about this mower is that it was super easy to use. It was easy-to-assemble, easy to use and easy to put away when I was done with it. Not to mention that it was also pretty easy to start. All of this really contributed to the positive experience of using this mower.
However, there were also a few things I didn’t like. For example, I really didn’t like the fact that it only bagged and mulched grass—that there was no option for a side discharge. And I was also quite disappointed with how this mower mulched my grass. It didn’t do a great job like I would’ve expected it to have done.
I also think that this mower would also be more suited for smaller yards than medium-sized ones. It ran for about 45 minutes, but I did have to go over my grass a couple times over to get it cut. I think if it was used on larger yards, then it would have to be recharged a couple of times to get the job done.
I think the Poulan Pro 40V Electric Start Dual Blade Mower is a decent mower. While it isn’t the most inexpensive mower or the best cordless lawn mower out there, it does offer a few things to its users. It’s light, easy-to-use and is quiet. All very admirable features in my book. Whether that’s enough for you to buy it or not is completely up to you.
